VJS Announces Groundbreaking Takes Place at McKinley Elementary School in Wauwatosa

VJS Construction Services (VJS), a general contracting, construction management, and design build firm located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, is pleased to announce that the Wauwatosa School District recently broke ground on its McKinley Elementary School project.


McKinley Elementary School will be a new 77,522 square foot building. The existing school will be completely replaced and students will remain onsite in the current school during construction of the new building to minimize the disruption to learning as much as possible. The expected completion date for this project is August 2021.


The group broke ground while observing social distancing guidelines and wearing masks. The District also broadcast the event on Facebook to allow members of the community to participate virtually.


VJS Construction Services is the General Contractor for this project. The team for this project includes: Gina Spang – Senior Project Manager, Ryan Steenhagen – Project Manager, Michael Harriman – Project Engineer, and Ryan Niegocki – Superintendent. The architectural firm for this project is Plunkett Raysich Architects.
