The Wauwatosa School District celebrated the grand opening of its new athletic field at Wauwatosa East High School. The original field was replaced with a new artificial turf field in order to expand usage of the field in hours, number of people and activities.
The new turf will serve soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, football, kickball, baseball, softball, track and field, marching band, physical education classes, and recreational activities and sports, which aligns with the Active Tosa Plan.
The Active Tosa Plan was a study done in partnership between the Wauwatosa School District and the City of Wauwatosa to improve outdoor recreational and green spaces. Bleacher seating was also replaced along with the addition of a scoreboard, LED field lighting and parking lot and loading dock reconfiguration.
